Our Confidence

Being afraid of the dark may not be something we struggle with now, but being alone in any situation can cause uncertainty. We were not created to be alone, but that doesn’t mean we won’t face situation alone, and many of us can feel alone even in a large family. When we face these kind of situations we can give into fear, and there is danger here. Fear can control our lives, our decisions and actions, even effecting our loved ones. But we are not alone, we have a helper who is always with us, encouraging us, guiding us, and loving us. God is for us, and if we truly believe this then we know that nothing can stand against us, not fear, not the enemy, nothing. Then we can have confidence no matter what we face.

Deuteronomy 31:7-8

Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched, he said to him, “Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the Lordswore to their ancestors he would give them. You are the one who will divide it among them as their grants of land. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lordwill personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Psalm 118:1-7

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
    His faithful love endures forever.

Let all Israel repeat:
    “His faithful love endures forever.”
Let Aaron’s descendants, the priests, repeat:
    “His faithful love endures forever.”
Let all who fear the Lord repeat:
    “His faithful love endures forever.”

In my distress I prayed to the Lord,
and the Lord answered me and set me free.
The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?
Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me.
I will look in triumph at those who hate me.
