Memory

It’s easy for us to get lost in the hurt. It’s almost like pain and sorrow can trap us, but there is freedom from this! Pain and sorrow can be like a prison, we feel trapped in those things, like they have control over our lives, and hurt has slammed the prison door shut and won’t let us free. When faced with things like these, we can quickly forget the positive moments in our lives, the good moments. Our attitudes toward loved ones can change, and even people or situations that have nothing to do with the hurt in our lives at all, but there is good news! We are not prisoners to our pain, we have been set free! The catch is we have to take action. We have to look to, and focus on the good things that have happened in our lives. Look to the redeeming power of Jesus for freedom from those things that have caused us pain. It’s time to take back power from the pain, sorrow and hurts in your life. Look to Christ, focus on what he has done for you.

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
